Sebastian, a native of Quindio, is of his family’s fourth generation of family coffee-growers.

Six years ago, Sebastian reached his seventh semester of law school when, instead, he had to take over the family farm. This coffee tells his story.

Through selfless dedication, Sebastian has since transformed the farm into one of Colombia’s most special operations, embracing specialty coffee to thrive in a challenging industry.

The El Placer farm is located in the Buenos Aires de Calarcá village, an area known for its flourishing coffee culture. By combining traditional methods with innovative practices, Sebastian offers a unique "cherry to cup" experience, inviting coffee lovers to savour the rich flavours of his passion for producing, and learn the inspiring story behind every bean.

Importantly, Sebastian has also chosen to place sustainability at the forefront of his work. Here, water-saving practices are used for processing and extensive soil-testing operations have managed to make big reductions in the use of fertilisers. Weed control across the entire farm is done manually by staff.
