Guatemala Granada
Guatemala Granada is a natural processed microlot that boasts notes of soft chocolate and warm spiced rhubarb compote with a subtle apple acidity.
Grown under shade at high altitudes at the Vides Family Farm, these Caturra and Bourbon trees produced cherries that were carefully patio-dried for over 20 days, resulting in a beautifully layered, vibrant coffee.
The Vides family’s journey began in 1958 when Dr. Jorge Vides purchased land in La Libertad, Huehuetenango, to start their first coffee farm, Finca La Bolsa. Amidst lush forests and sheltered by the warm, dry winds from the Tehuantepec plain, the family planted Bourbon and Caturra varieties. This beautiful land laid the groundwork for their enduring legacy in Guatemalan specialty coffee, with the Vides family handling all milling, grading, bagging, and export preparations, allowing them to receive the full FOB price for their coffee.
In 2002, Maria Vides and her son Renardo Ovalle, managing the family farms, took a leap and submitted their coffee to the prestigious Cup of Excellence competition. To their delight, they placed second, sparking the family’s drive to expand. Today, the Vides family owns multiple farms, each producing the same high-quality coffee for which they are renowned globally.
The Vides family is as committed to sustainability as they are to coffee excellence. They have integrated environmentally friendly practices across their farms and contribute actively to the local community. Through building schools and sharing their expertise in agronomy, they empower their community, ensuring a positive impact that goes far beyond the coffee cup.

PRICING EXPLAINED
*This is the FOB (Free On Board) price: the price paid to the exporter before shipping, and which does not include shipping costs, weight loss (around 17%), storage and other charges. Ultimately, the FOB price represents the $ figure that stays in the coffee's country of origin, benefiting its producer, community, and beyond.
^This is the 'raw' price paid directly to the producer, and paid in the local currency for parchment coffee. The coffee is then milled and sorted before being placed in bags, ready for shipping.
